Glass Cabin wins Book of the Year
On December 15th, Southern Literary Review named Glass Cabin as their 2024 Poetry Book of the Year.
Glass Cabin, released by Pulley Press in April 2024, chronicles the thirteen years Tina Mozelle Braziel and James Braziel spent building their home out of secondhand tin, tornado-snapped power poles, and church glass on Hydrangea Ridge. Their poems explore the work it takes to measure cuts for stairs, to haul one ton of water up the mountain, and to write the poetry that shapes the collection. It is also a meditation on hope, on frustration, and their place in the wilder parts of the world.
“Glass Cabin unfolds with its lovely, lyrical phrases to tell several multi-layered stories,” Claire Matturro wrote in her review of the collection. “It’s a book to be devoured, and then re-read to be savored.”
Congratulations to Jim and Tina!
